I’ve photographed weddings in Tuscany for almost 20 years, most of them in the province of Siena.
If you’re getting married in a villa in Val d’Orcia, a castle in Chianti or a farmhouse near Cortona, I probably know the place, or one very close to it.
I work quietly and on my own.
I don’t stage your day: I watch, anticipate and tell the story of what really happens, from the getting ready to the last dance.
Then, when the light turns golden, we take twenty minutes for some relaxed portraits among the vineyards, the cypresses or the old stone walls of your venue.
Full day from €1,950, travel and accommodation anywhere in Tuscany included.

Where I photograph weddings in Tuscany
Tuscany is not one place.
Val d’Orcia, Chianti, Val di Chiana and the coast each have their own landscape, their own light and their own pace.
Knowing them means knowing where the sun goes down behind the hills, where to find shade on a hot July afternoon, and how long it really takes to drive from the church to the villa.
Val d’Orcia, Montalcino and Montepulciano
Rolling hills, cypress avenues and medieval villages: the Tuscany everyone imagines. I’ve photographed weddings at La Foce, in Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia and Montepulciano.
Val di Chiana, Cortona and Arezzo
Quieter and less known, with wide views and beautiful historic villas. Weddings at Villa Castelletto in Sinalunga, in Cortona and at Castello di Gargonza.
Chianti and Siena
Vineyards, castles and old farmhouses between Florence and Siena. Weddings at Villa Catignano, Castello di Ristonchi and in the heart of Chianti.

Your wedding day with me
Getting ready
I usually arrive about two hours before the ceremony. I love the getting ready: those moments when nerves and happiness are perfectly balanced.
The ceremony
Civil, symbolic or religious, I stay discreet and respect the atmosphere and the emotions of the moment.
Family photos
Right after the ceremony, a few formal photos with your closest family and your witnesses. Just a few minutes.
Aperitivo and portraits
Then you go and enjoy the aperitivo with your guests. When the light gets softer, before dinner, we take a short walk together for about twenty minutes. I look for the best light and the right frame, and let you be yourselves: a walk, a hug, a smile or a kiss is all I need.
Dinner, speeches and cake
I’m there for everything that happens at dinner: the speeches, the first dance, the cake cutting.
The party
I finish with some fun, dynamic photos on the dance floor.
I like to end the day with pictures that are a little less conventional.

Questions couples ask me
Not at all, and you’d be surprised how many couples tell me that. Most of my work is about photographing what happens naturally, so for most of the day you won’t even notice me. After the ceremony, while your guests enjoy the aperitivo, I’ll ask you for a short walk, usually about twenty minutes: I don’t like keeping couples away from the celebration, which is the best part of the day. I choose the spot with the best light, ask you to stand close, maybe facing each other, and simply be together for a moment. Then I move around you and photograph what happens. It’s light and relaxed, nothing to be nervous about.
From spring to the end of September. May, June and September usually have the softest light and the most comfortable temperatures. July and August can be very hot, so we plan the outdoor moments for the cooler hours. These days the weather is harder to predict than it used to be, so it’s always worth having a plan B at the venue.
Many couples who come from abroad schedule the ceremony early so they can enjoy a longer party. It’s completely understandable, but at 4 pm in a Tuscan summer the sun can be really strong. It creates harsh contrasts in the photos, and above all it can be hard on you and your guests. If you can, move the ceremony a little later: sunset is around 9 pm in late June and around 7 pm at the end of September. If that isn’t possible, a lovely touch is to give your guests some elegant white paper parasols, so everyone has a little shade.
No. Travel and accommodation anywhere in Tuscany are included in the price, so there are no extra costs to add later.
For larger weddings, roughly over 80 guests, I can bring a second photographer, on request. Most of the time I work alone: it keeps me discreet, and you and your guests forget I’m there.
Right after the ceremony I always take a few formal photos with your closest family, your witnesses, the best man and the maid of honour. It only takes a few minutes. A group photo with all your guests is possible too, on request: just tell me beforehand, so we can find the right moment without getting in the way of the catering and the rest of the day.
Yes, and I love them. With just a few people every moment counts, and there’s room for a kind of closeness that big weddings rarely have. Working alone and discreetly makes all the difference.
We improvise. A colonnade, a portico, or simply an umbrella. Rain often turns into one of the most fun and spontaneous moments of the day, and some of my favourite pictures were taken that way.
